Located in downtown Monterey blocks from the bay and many of the town’s most popular destinations, this small, locally owned hotel has 63 rooms in three 2- and 3-story buildings. The smoke-free buildings are clustered around a pool, sundeck, and hot tub, and take advantage of the temperate maritime climate with opening windows and patios and balconies. The hotel lacks air conditioning, but only rarely is the temperature high enough to cause discomfort; for chillier weather, many rooms feature gas fireplaces.
